Grimsby Institute set REMfit a challenging brief: to create modern salons and teaching facilities within the existing 1970s building. The complete makeover included internal structural work, with the removal of partition walls and relocation of doorways. To make the most of available space REMfit manufactured special fitted units and, for example, made bespoke radiator covers, special storage lockers for students and retail units with see through backs to allow light in from existing windows. The existing reception desk was over clad with new laminated worktops and counter front, giving the desk a modern, sleek look.

The result? Two hair salons, (one commercial and one as a teaching facility), two beauty rooms, and nails and make-up rooms. The staff described the completed project as "a beautiful and functional working space".
